Of the many things that we do here at Courtside Marketing, one that we really enjoy is the chance to team up with Chamber’s in the neighboring cities to host a seminar and share the message of digital marketing. Throughout these seminars, it provides us the chance to inform members and local businesses of the various updates and changes that have been made to the digital realm. Moreover, it also allows us the chance to network and get to know those that run the area businesses on a more personal, one-on-one level. On October 29th, we had the pleasure of doing such with the members and local business owners in nearby Gretna, Nebraska.
During the seminar two of the biggest facets that we hit on were the recent updates made to Facebook’s newsfeed algorithm, and the new Google Mobile Companion algorithm. Most of the time small to medium sized business owners are consumed with running their establishments, and are unaware of the instances as presented above. But that’s why we’re here!
Aside from the general informing side of the seminar, for those that attended the event we provided them with a free online audit of their business. These audits are great tools that show how a business’ website is performing, more so with the back-end, in addition to their social media presence and local listings. The reports cover a vast area of content, but are essential in that they are able to show our attendees their areas of strengths and weaknesses. And with these audits Thursday morning, it gave us a greater opportunity to learn more about the specific business, and where we could potentially be of some assistance.
We had a blast at the seminar in Gretna which lasted roughly 90 minutes, and thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of those that took the time to attend. Furthermore, we want to thank those that attended, and Kara Alexander, Chamber Administrator for helping us put on such an awesome event!
